Return Polymers is proud to be contributing leftover PVC scrap as part of the construction plan for the new Davy McClure Outdoor Education Center, which broke ground on May 7, 2024.
“The Davy” honors the life and legacy of David “Davy” McClure, Ashland City Schools District bus driver and former parks commissioner. Davy loved the outdoors and sought to pass on that love to future generations.
Davy passed away in 2020, but his legacy will continue on for many years. In his memory, the Ashland community has set out to build the Outdoor Education Center, which will continue to spur on future generations’ love of the outdoors, just like Davy did throughout his life.
The center will be located at the Tom Kruse Wildlife Conservation Park off of State Route 60. It will include a meeting place with WiFi while also launching exploration of the surrounding environment for area youth and community members. The park will eventually link up to Byers Woods via asphalt paths.
The TK Park itself is an 80-acre ecosystem of ponds, wetlands, and meadows, a diverse wildlife habitat that will become even more accessible to the public once The Davy is complete.
Return Polymers joins several other in-kind contributors in the effort to complete this exciting project, including Simonson Construction, Jamison Well and Drilling, and Sarver Paving. Community members have rallied to support the project with their donations, including the Ferguson family, the Ashland Elks, the Ashland Community Foundation, the Archer family, and many others.
We can’t wait to see this longstanding vision of Dave McClure come to completion!
